Our Story
Our story starts with a love for the Okanagan and a fond childhood experience of orchard life with my grandparents.Although I never thought having an orchard would ever come back to me, life has a way of putting just what you need in front of you.
The apricot orchard had been part of the community and local family for many years but for many reasons had become overgrown and neglected. Our family had the opportunity to purchase this property in 2018 and decided to grab life by the horns and try our hand at farming. We knew that we would need a lot of help getting going so my parents moved from Alberta in November of 2018 to do just that. We get asked if King is our last name, no it is not. With so many different last names working this farm we kept it simple and gave it the name because it is located on King Road, a staple in the history of Lakeview Heights
My vision was to have a diversified orchard with all types of fruit and nut trees, flowers and plants and honeybees to make it complete. Since 2018, we have planted apples, cherries, plums, peaches, grapes, and many types of berries and of course added beehives. In the fall, we use our fruit to make jams, spreads, and pie fillings, which are delicious by the way as they are small batched and preservative free. We have also begun making soaps and shampoo bars because we want to offer as many homemade and natural products as possible! We look forward to meeting you!
